For the hiking tours only you encounter a variety of terrain from wide gravel paths, to narrow and rocky trails. Our guides set always a comfortable pace which gives everyone time to enjoy properly each aspect of the day: take photographs, admire the scenario, learn more about flora and fauna of the area.

Activity Level Guidelines

Light: no special skills are required and even people without a fitness base will enjoy these trips. The car sightseeing/guided walks take place mostly on flat or slightly sloping surfaces, with possibility of few steps to climb.  If there are people with certain disabilities or needing to move with wheelchair, please inform us, we will design a tour fitting your needs.

Moderate: the walking tours involve some up/down hill walking, climb 3-4 flights of stairs in necessary, step on and off of big/small boats and trains if needed. For example walking in the villages of Cinque Terre or around Siena, Montepulciano, San Gimignano.

The hiking tours involve the walking up to 3 hours through gentle terrain, across fields, along coastal trails with little elevation gain/loss; altitude is not a factor. Occasionally slightly uneven paths and trails. For example the paths of Southern Tuscany.

Challenging: you should be able to hike up to 5 hours on uneven footpaths, with gravels and rocks. These are the typical Cinque Terre trails or Portofino Natural Park trails.
