Cinque Terre cooking class, Portofino cookery lessons for small and large groups available in 5 Terre and La Spezia area.

Food is more important than art and history to get to know thoroughly Italy and the Italian lifestyle. In fact, in Italy the culture of food, of cooking, fo several courses meals, are only a good excuse to spend time together, drink some wine and have fun with your friends or your family. Every Italian region has its own food specialties, for example, Liguria is the homeland of the Pesto sauce, types of pasta like Trofie and Pansotti, delicate anchovies, unique mussels and much more.

Now you have the opportunity to learn more about Ligurian food by working into the kitchen of our cooks in their restaurants of La Spezia, Cinque Terre or in the Riviera of Portofino. If you stay in a villa, we will organize everything in your home.

According to the number of participants and special requests, it’s possible to organize the grocery at the local food market then prepare fresh homemade pasta such as tagliatelle, ravioli etc., the Pesto sauce or another dressing, the main course and a dessert. Afterward, have a seat and taste what you have prepared!

Cooking lesson in the Cinque Terre

The cooking lesson is held in a restaurant located on the mountainside and takes approximately 3 hrs for enjoying a Hands-on experience of preparing a four course meal with a stunning view and to have this for lunch at 1pm.

Inclusions: transfer from the sea level up to the restaurant,  3 cooking class, 4 courses meal then stay as long as you want  to enjoy the view and the shade – English speaking cook.

Cookery class infos

  • Starts: 10 am
  • Duration: 3 hrs + lunch
  • You will prepare: pesto sauce, hand made pasta, stuffed ravioli, sea food antipasti, vegetable pies, dessert.
  • Available for groups from 1 up to 15 people.

  • 4 days food and wine full immersion. One day focused on local wines and 3 days cooking all the local specialties.
  • Cinque Terre wine experience. 3 hours of taking, tasting, matching wine and food in the vineyards and in company of our wine experts.

Cooking lesson in La Spezia

The cooking lesson takes place in a historical osteria located on the hills surrounding La Spezia. You will meet the cook Simona at la Spezia train station and together visit the colorful food market for the day grocery. Afterwards enjoy the preparation of simple hand made pasta, pesto sauce with the marble mortar and bruschette with basil and tomatoes. On request even something a bit more challenging like stuffed ravioli, mussels, etc etc.

Adults from € 150,00 per person – Kids have reduction.

Inclusions: visit of the food market, 3 hours cooking class, 3 courses meal wine included, English speaking cook.

Cooking lessons in Potofino and Italian Riviera

The cooking class is held in a restaurant located in Sestri Levante, a lovely coastal town of the Italian Riviera not far from Portofino. Here learn how to prepare the most famous Ligurian food specialties like handmade pesto sauce with homemade pasta then have lunch based on what you prepared plus other delicacies. After the class have some time to stroll around and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the everyday life. Then lunch follows.

Inclusions: 2 hours cooking class, 3 courses meal (appetizers, pasta, dessert) wine included – English speaking cook.

  • Available for groups from 1 up to 70 people.

Pesto making class by boat

The pesto-making class is held on a boat, an historical fishing boat of 5 Terre called Leudo. The pesto sauce is the traditional Ligurian dressing for the pasta or other snacks and its made of basil, pine-nuts, olive oil, garlic and dry cheese. Well the fun is try making “grandma style” by hand with marble mortar and pestle!

The cruise starts in La Spezia and during the navigation, visit the mussels farms, enjoy the view of the coastal villages, have an aperitivo or stop for a swim along the 5 Terre coast. Lunch will be served aboard with pasta and your pesto sauce, vegetable tarts, mussels, marinated anchovies and other local delicacies.

Mid afternoon return to La Spezia port.
