The authentic recipe of the “Pesto alla Genovese” says: fresh Ligurian basil, olive oil, garlic, sea salt, pine-nuts, pecorino and somebody says even Parmigiano cheese. Pesto comes from the Italian word pestare which means to pound the ingredients with a woo pestle into a marble mortar (from Carrara).

  • Meet a local young lady who lives in the Cinque Terre.
  • Each of the participants makes his own pesto sauce.
  • Local wine will be served during the class.
  • Pasta will be served and dressed with your own pesto.
  • Olive oil and cheese tasting.
